I have been listening to some of the Avett Brother's music. One of their albums is titled "Mignonette", which was named after a yacht that sank, and the survivors subsequently turned to cannibalism in the lifeboat. I found the wiki entry fascinating and well written, and thought you might too.

I read the book "Alive" when I was in Desert Storm,it was in a box of freebies. This seems to be even nastier.actually plotting to kill each other for food? In Alive they at least waited till people died to eat them.

That is a very interesting read Bob.
It is surprising how quickly they deteriorated without water.
I wonder how long it would have been before they resorted to Filet O'Rich if they had ample fresh water ?

They would have not stuck him with the penknife for weeks if they had ample water, and maybe not at all. Maybe dehydration also makes you irrational enough to think you can and should get away with it, and even that O'l Jimmy over there looks mighty tasty.

10 days without food with or without ample water is about the breaking point.
The blood is what they wanted most but still hunger would have broke them.
