They're being cut down along Washington Turnpike in Wharton, and being given out for free statewide to NJ residents.

Just show up with NJ ID. I would go early.

I know they are native. From their FB site;

Trees are distributed based on what grows best in that region. It can be anything from a pine to a dogwood.
Do you know how I can find out what kind are being distributed by me?
Find your county on the link described in our post and look for your particular county. You can find the different locations that will be distributing trees and find out.

This is what the nursery in Jackson grows and sells each year. I would imagine this is the main list of tree seedlings that will be available for the giveaway.
