Events in the Pines
Annual Native Plant Sale @ PPA, April 27th, 11am - 3pm

Join us for our 8th annual sale of plants native to the Pinelands and South Jersey. PPA members get in before the crowds on April 26th from 3pm to 6pm for our members-only sale. Walking Tour of Harrisville, May 4th, 10am to 12pm

a 19th Century Paper Mill Town
Join author Angelo Dellomo for a nostalgic walk through the old paper mill town of Harrisville in Burlington County. Mr. Dellomo will guide participants on a tour of one of the most romantic and charming villages ever to exist in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Cost is $10/person. Rain Barrel Workshop @ PPA, May 4th, 11am to 2pm

Construct your own rain barrel to take home! These 55 gallon plastic drums collect rainwater during storms that can be used to water gardens, lawns, etc. Get instruction on constructing a rain barrel as well as proper use and installation. We will build 15 barrels for the first 15 individuals who register. All other interested persons are welcome to attend and gain instruction free of charge, but they will not receive a barrel. Led by Rancocas Watershed Ambassador, Peter Zampella. Cost is $25 to build a barrel. To register click here.






Creating Exceptional Landscape Photographs
May 11th, 10am, Pinelands Preservation Alliance, Southampton NJ

Award winning photographers Albert D. Horner and Denise Bush will lead this landscape photography workshop for photographers of all skill levels. Topics include equipment, finding a location, exposure, composition, advanced techniques and other important skills. Cost is $75 per person. Stream Monitoring Workshop: May 18th

How healthy is the stream in your neighborhood? Learn how to perform a biological stream assessment. Takes place at PPA's offices. Must beat least 14 yearsold to attend. This workshop is led by Rancocas Watershed Ambassaor, Peter Zampella. FREE. Registration required.


Pinelands 101: Intro to Pinelands Ecology - May 22nd, 7pm at PPA's offices.. Learn about the natural history of the Pinelands: its sandy soils, its water resources, its rare species, and its curious dependence on fire from Dr. Amy Karpati, Director of Conservation Science for PPA.
