Anyone interested in assisting as a volunteer with DEP at the East Plains Natural area south of Range road?

Contact me privately and I lead toward whom to contact.

Presently clearing of brush which surrounds various patches of the Broom Crowberry.

The purpose is to prevent fire from killing the Broom Crowberry, along with preventing other plants from competing for space.

I have been assisting as a volunteer and know others had privately expressed interest to me. What I have been doing is carrying the brush which is cut to either an area where it will be burned, or placed on a truck to be taken to a pit location near the range.

A volunteer application will be completed. it asks basic information and does not require experience.

Be well !

My time is always limited, its that time of year, but I'd be interested in at least being on call in case I was free.

More brush will be cleared Friday in the East Plains Natural Area, Broom Crowberry project. Some will be moved to an open pit south of Range road. Some will be placed onto an area that will be burned at some point.

If anyone is interested in volunteering let me know.

Thanks !

I guess it is hard for most people to do that on a weekday.

Yes weekdays are difficult.

Once shown what to do. It can be done on weekends too.

Soon I hope the pit area just off range road, ( is a state natural area and has crowberry as well) will be closed off and signs placed to keep out shooters, 4 wheelers and dumpers.

Hope to purchase cables and posts in next week or so.
