yup.......unfortunately, they'll be more fires in that area. Wheather its the air force, people or mother nature that starts them. Its inevitable.

Flares aren't the only causes of fires at the range. Back in 1999, 11,000+ acres burned from a dummy practice bomb that was off the mark and landed in Bass River SF. For those that don't know, the dummy bombs set off a small explosive charge on impact to release smoke. For marking purposes.
New Signs - Trash
Perhaps the new 99 Cent plastic Bombing Range signs that have been installed will correct pilot errors. HA HA !
It would be great if the surrounding area was cleared of trash with each sortie!
The Plains area is absolutely beautiful.
After spending several months there. I must admit it has given my family insight into this wonderful area that we never experienced anywhere before.
New deposits of trash are down, illegal target shooters and their junk reduced too, fewer ATV's, night parties and associated fires, 4 wheelers tearing up the area all have been greatly reduced.
