Atlantic County officials expect the temporary bridge on Weymouth Road in Hamilton Township will open tomorrow morning.
The $1.3 million bridge on the road over Deep Run will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Atlantic County officials said in a release.

The bridge suffered severe structural damage from Tropical Storm Irene in August and was deemed a total loss.
The temporary bridge is eligible for full reimbursement from the Federal Highway Administration's Emergency Relief Program that requires completion within 180 days of the disaster.
The structure is key for residents of the Weymouth section of Hamilton Township to access the Black Horse Pike. With the bridge out the residents had to detour through downtown Mays Landing - which took several minutes.
"The temporary bridge allows us to reopen the roadway much sooner than we would had we had to wait for construction and permitting of the permanent replacement," said County Executive Dennis Levinson in a release. "We worked quickly to take advantage of the federal program. And to our credit we met the deadline with a few weeks to spare."
The county has identified 12 bridges and several roadways in Atlantic County in need of repairs at an estimated cost of $6 million, officials said.

That's good news, has been kind of a pain having that road closed for so long. I don't really understand the "temporary" part though. Does that mean the road will remain open while they build the "permanent" bridge? Maybe it will make sense when I actually see what they've done.

FWIW, this is the location - or at least I *think* this is what they're talking about, I haven't gone up there since the road closure signs went up: http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.49775264703922&lng=-74.77894596755505&z=21&type=m&gpx=

Hmm, or maybe it's here? http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.50739017225889&lng=-74.78196814656258&z=21&type=m&gpx=

Yeah, I also wondered if it was there dogg. Will have to drive out that way and have a look. I only know that the signs say you can't get to Rt 322 from Mays Landing on Rt 559.
