a village...in the pines
So exploring a little in Penn yesterday and found these on the edge of a woods line. Not a burn area. First thoughts are an insect trap.....or some type of item to hold pheromone/bait?.... any ideas? curious little things just lying on the ground. One broken, one whole. Just curious.

thanks..... these don't look like they are/were used recently....maybe left behind from a scientific study. No straws in the ends either.
Thank you for the info. Guy, did you actually make these at work?.....and now ISS parts? you always amaze me. ;)

Not sure what you mean by "making these at work?? The info in my posts were a guess and was incorrect. It was for bees and not bugs and my mention of a straw was just a guess and also incorrect.

My apologies...reading the link again I see you mention that you used the program you had at work to replicate the image of the found item, not to make the items. Bees/bugs....we all seemed to come to similar conclusions for their use as a means to attract insects. Again, I thank you for your response. As always, helpful.
