So every other day or so I end up posting a photo up on the Facebook page for folks to look at. I went into the gallery here and found a historical photo of a sawmill. The Library of Congress caption doesn't go into any detail about where the image was taken - it just says "Old sawmill, pine area, New Jersey."

I'm thinking that it might be the sawmill at Double Trouble, but I'm not sure. Can anybody identify it?

I see this was also talked about in 2009.Maybe Jerseyman will come to help

I can’t make any pronouncements with absolute authority, but if I had to hazard a guess at the identity of this sawmill, I would say it is the ruins of the mill that once stood at Hockamick, powered by Jumping Brook.

I know with certainty, given the date of the photograph (January 1938), that it is not the Double Trouble mill, which burned in 1909. When reconstructed, it featured corrugated steel siding.

Best regards,
Jerseyman
