It's not mentioned in that article but using corn for fuel has decreased the amount of corn available for food which has caused the price of corn to increase in poor countries where corn makes up the staple of the diet and the people can't afford the increased cost.
We have a government that tells us what kind of fuel we can put in our cars, what kind of car we can drive, what kind of fats we're allowed to eat, how many gallons of water we can flush down our toilets, and now what kind of health care insurance we're allowed to buy. Whatever happened to freedom and liberty?

This stuff has caused many problems, some very expensive to correct. It makes no sense, as reported, for many reasons.
I see something on the news that I want to talk about every day, but I don't post it here anymore because Ben was very clear that he no longer wanted this kind of discussion. In the past, I was one of the worst offenders and got involved in some very heated threads. But I now completely support the "no politics" policy and think it's made the site a much friendlier place.
Whether or not you found your post political, just look at the response it drew. Next, somebody who disagrees with that will come along and try to refute that. Then it just spirals downhill. But go ahead and "knock yourself out"...
