    Bass River Fire Tower proposal

Based on this article, it appears the two agencies are the DEP and the Pinelands Commission. http://www.burlingtoncountytimes.com/news/20180814/dep-considering-suit-against-pinelands-commission-for-failing-to-approve-tree-clearing-application

    Bass River Fire Tower proposal

The Pinelands Commission voted down the tree cutting proposal. In doing so it looks like they put themselves in uncharted territory in terms of what's to come next: http://www.burlingtoncountytimes.com/news/20180812/nj-pinelands-commission-votes-down-clearing-trees-from-around-bass-river-fire-tower

    Closing West Mill Road

Kerry Pflugh is the new municipal liaison, it's worth including her in the communications. I give her some credit, since she took over the role, she has started sending weekly updates on "what's happening" at the DEP. She also went out to every municipality and met with the local officials to...

    Closing West Mill Road

We took a ride down West Mill Road (Sycamore) on Sunday, but didn't get very far. A new gate has been installed here: http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.69788903846056&lng=-74.74525976579667&z=17&type=hybrid&gpx=

    Pinelands Commission Resolution: MAP 2.0

The editorial board drank the kool-aid, and the PPA wants everyone to think the forest is closed now thanks to their fine work. No longer any need to compromise, and certainly no need to recognize all the progress made over the past two years when they were forced to compromise with the...

Possible Government Shut-down may affect your weekend..

They do vote on the budget, once it's approved they send it to the governor. If Prieto was confident his party would vote the way he wanted them to, he would have put both the budget and the Horizon bill up for a vote. If both were voted down we'd be in the same spot, but at least the full...

Possible Government Shut-down may affect your weekend..

They could have voted down the budget also. He didn't allow the vote because his own party would have approved it. As it stands they had no say in the matter.

Possible Government Shut-down may affect your weekend..

If Prieto's Democrats feel that way, why not let them vote it down?

Possible Government Shut-down may affect your weekend..

Although the Governor certainly shares responsibility for the shutdown, in fairness this situation was caused by Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D, Hudson). He refused to put the Horizon bill up for a vote, thereby denying the assembly of the opportunity to vote on it, one way or the other...
