    Tadpole to frog

They are a gray treefrog. They resemble pine barrens treefrog when young, but the striping on the legs is a dead give away that it is a gray. If you google gray treefrog tadpole images, you can see that is what you had. Great photos!

    swimming

DO NOT GO TO MENANTICO WMA or any WMA to swim!!!!! I got busted for being down there. You can't swim anywhere unless it is designated as a swimming area. And the quarry pond is PRIVATE PROPERTY....they will charge you for trespassing. Just to let you know! Take care and be careful!

    Box turtles

They are attracted to them probably due to their smell (high odor content). I know flies will lay eggs in the soft tissue between their neck and shoulder. They cut a small slit and lay eggs...sometimes more than one will do this (mostly bot flies). The eggs will turn into larva, the larva...

    Box turtles

Box turtle males (Land turtles) have an indent on their plastron (bottom shell) which helps him mount the female. Coloration is not the only indicator of sex in box turtles due to some vibrant colored females. In aquatic turtles (Painted, red-bellies, etc.) the sex can be determined by the...
