    We used to camp on around those bogs when we were kids because of the open views, they have really grown up since.

    I try to get to the pines a few times a year,I camp in remote spots and would not want to get a visit from the rangers.

    fine I have never been caught but in the early 90's it was $65, my brother in law got caught sleeping in the back of his truck near quarter mile water hole.

    I know some one who says that he remembers houses and people there in the 1950's. I have heard elsewhere that it was burned out in the late 1800's.

    Why are so many folks afraid of the pine barrens at night?

    strange place There is no place like the pines.I have been in alot of places,but even after coming back from Alaska the pines just have this feel to them. I love the place.

    You will get fined if you get caught. New Jersey does not believe that people can actually practice "no trace camping". The fire danger is also a problem. I personally do not like public campgrounds, I do not go out to the woods to listen to other people's noise, isn't the whole idea to get...

    Bear in Z Pines

    How long have the bears been back? I moved to VA in 1995.I came back to camp last year and I get a pamphlet with my permit that says "you are in bear country". Were the bears reintroduced or did they just wander in? I found a lot of tracks along the basto.
