I have noticed an odd thing.This island https://online.boydsmaps.com/#17/39.43177/-75.06823/njgin2007 seems to be impervious to Lidar.It is not on any of the Lidar imagery but yet I have stood on it.

I think thats a petroleum based tar but their both pretty much impervious to water which would probably make them almost indestructible as far as rot goes,could be carbonized into nothing by forest fires possibly?

In youtube video i was watching a man states they dug tar out of an old kiln so apparently it has staying power like charcoal.

I dug through the charcoal layer in one with my hand and started pulling up orange clay. I intend to dig in a barrel hole or two and see if I can find any tar left in the soil.The charcoal had a faint pine smell after all these years,wonder if tar will as well?

Once you get to the ruins can you check them out or are the briars engulfing the ruins as well? have been turned back from two tar pits so far,got to with in 40 ft and forced to my belly but could not get to them with out clippers anyway.I lost some blood in the process.
