    Paddling the Skit

Last week Gabe (pinelandpaddler) sent me a PM asking to come along the next time I paddled the Skit. He suggested a starting point that raised my eyebrows, the little bridge upstream of Batona Camp. Well I don't know of that ever being done but with the water being up and Gabe being a very...

I'm stuck in a puddle and can't get out!

It was a very steep grade crossing for a car. The tracks were torn out and the crossing leveled by the NJFFS while fighting a fire at Quarter Mile in 1999.

A solitary camper braved Batona camp last night.

We walked there this morning and he was trying to dry his gear out. we had 5 inches of rain last night. When we finished our walk he had all of his gear together and said he was going to Batsto Village. Right now he is probably at Quaker Bridge, and it is pouring again. You can't even hide under...

    Could Use Some Help

Michael, I got the impression that spot in Tabernacle is the geographic center off all the sightings. If this is true it does not necessarally follow that there were sightings there or even near by. The closest experience I had to seeing something like the Jersey Devil is when I went to look for...
