    More Herp Fauna!

Hey Al! I agree that it's difficult as hell to catch any of the prolonged breeders during the act. The only frogs that I have pictures of in amplexus are the wood frogs. I thought for sure that I would get some photos of spring peepers in amplexus this year, but there I stood in a chorus of...

    More Herp Fauna!

Red-eared sliders are invasive, and they often outcompete native painted turtles for basking sites. Basking is a crucial activity for building the immune system after hibernation, as well as for other purposes. People often ask how to differentiate between green and bull frogs in the...

Anyone with Knowledge of Animal Tracks?

I'm back with more! I went back to the location in question today, and found the track pictured below. Can I get a confirmation of coyote? Also, can I get a confirmation that this is a buck scrape? It was in a dense patch of cedars. Thank you for your help!

    Is this December??

Same here. I came home this afternoon to a green lawn and flowering bok choy (by this time the frost would have done a number on it, now it's bolting to seed!). Same here with the peepers too. I heard at least a dozen of them yesterday during a walk. Crazy weather!
