What kind of tracks are these??

I'm not sure if that is a heel print in the right corner. In fact I'm not sure what that is, I didn't notice it at the time of the photo. When I took the photo I used my hand as a measurement. The print was as wide as my fist so probably closer to 3.5 inches, the length was as long as my fist...

What kind of tracks are these??

I was down in cumberland county the other day and found this track. I have no idea what this could be it was way to big for a dog. It was huge about 4.5-5 inches long and about 4 wide. Could this be a coyote track? Isn't it too big?

    Manumuskin River Preserve

Here is a picture of the young pine snake. Unfortunately the picture didn't scan in too well. His coloration was tan on dark tan, here is the pic. Didn't want to be one of those people that say they saw something but couldn't get a picture of it in time.

    Any birders out there?

Bob, I have been going down to Manumuskin River Preserve and it seems like it has potential. I may have caught it on a good day but two weeks ago I saw a bald eagle. Also there are osprey nests on telephone poles there. I also saw tons of warblers, woodpeckers, chickadee's, ducks, vultures...

What kind of snake is this?

Brandon- I think in pennslyvania they may be a species of concern. Given the right habitat they are fairly easy to find. But there must be a fairly large size creek with clean water flowing in it. I have a couple pics of the timbers but has you can see from my previous post photography is not...

What kind of snake is this?

My brother-in-law and I have seen close to 30 adult wood turtles since about 1999. Every time I go up to this spot I see a couple, but most of my trips have occured in the summer and fall. I plan on going more in the spring so I should see even more at that time. This place is a haven for wood...

    Manumuskin River Preserve

Yeah it is in Cumberland County it is right off the second to last exit on rt. 55. Looks like a good area for birding, as for reptiles I haven't seen much yet besides frogs and box turtles. Intersesting place though.

    Some recent NJ Herptiles

Nice pics, I like the box turtles always glad when people find boxies since they in my opinion will be endangered in new jersey in the next couple decades. Marbled salamander is awesome, I'm not a salamander guy but that one is cool looking.

    Double Trouble State Park

Went down to Double Trouble yesterday to see what I could find. Saw lots of the norms, green frogs, leopard frogs, fence swifts, deer(tons), blue herons, red tailed hawks, vultures. However the find of the day for me was a baby box turtle he appeared to be about 2-3weeks old. With the winter...

15 timbers found in the pines!!

unless I see a picture of something I'm skeptical. Anytime I catch anything I take a picture of it even if it is a green frog. So not seeing a picture I become skeptical. However, I did ask the guy to email me some of the pictures of his expedition, so we'll see. He says he has a...

    No Copperheads in the Pines?

I couldn't agree with Bobbleton more. I too have become completely frustrated with NJ. I use to herp alot more when I was young and always got so frustrated how there was always garbage around, dirts bikes, tracks of woods broken up by obscene mcmanisons. Its unfortunate NJ has been treated...
