    Piney Sunset

Today I took a little walk in the woods. :):) Right place at the right time to witness another beautiful Pine Barrens sunset while traversing the Cedar Creek near my house. Thank the Pines for this pic not me. Now that is a True Piney Sunset:cool: I thank God every day that I live here.

Where is that? Right next to Pasadena WL Management, between 539 and Savoy? North or south of Webbs Mill Rd?

Dear Pine Barrens: Cloud People exist.

Thanks for the info. And I just started Mcphee's book. He is in the house and they are talking about Frederick Browns life and the adventures of Bill Wasovwich. I love it so far. God hath not promised Sun without rain Joy without sorrow Peace without pain. Great stuff... thanks again:)

    Morning Hike

Mark, Unfortunately there will always be people in the world who just don't get it. There was some trash strewn about at the peak, but not much. I don't understand the grafiti on the rails? Being a slob is one thing. I just don't understand being destructive. Why would people come all the way...

    Morning Hike

I definitely agree with you all. I was definitely wrong about Sourlands. BTW Chilehead, I like your post. I have heard nothing but good things. Havent been yet, but will get there. Very busy so living in Pines is a blessing. So much wilderness to explore in my backyard. I really do love the...

    Morning Hike

I dont care if I am right or wrong. I find true facts to be way more interesting than winning. :D I just know that there are quite a few hills in the pines between AP Hill and Arney's Mt. that rise up 200 plus feet. There are also a multitude that are 150-200. I just looked up Arneys and it...

    Morning Hike

I had a compass and was holding a map. The large hill was directly north. I know Bear Swamp is almost directly SE. The little hill photo was almost directly east, slightly north. Now that I think about it we saw Philly and A.C. and they were really far in the distance, so probably not Sourland...

    Morning Hike

Opposites attract. My wife and I are very opposite in a lot of ways. Married 19 years last month. She "does not like" the wilderness. Yet I was able to bribe her to do a little 2 mile round trip to Apple Pie Hill this morning. She loved it. She always seems to end up loving our little hikes when...

Hiking to the Forked River Mountain...how?

Heading west on Lacey Rd from parkway. Just after mile marker 7 there is a gate on the right side of road. There is also area to park on grass. Almost directly across from gate is a trail head. No "POSTED" signs. The trail runs along the north side of Factory Branch. Take it to the end. Make...

If 5.7 miles is a couple of miles then you'd be correct sir. Over 11 miles round trip

Favorite place in the Pine Barrens

Just catching up on old threads that caught my eye. I would say it's really hard to pick when you like both highlands and wetlands. My favorites: The entire Forked River Mountain area and every single white cedar forest I have ever encountered. I think it's about my mood. When I need serenity...
