Hints of Places Here and There

I actually thought he was referring to a forge near Washington in the pines. I had never heard of such, so was intrigued. Thanks for clearing that up.

Hints of Places Here and There

Thanks for the info, German. I can see the pluses and minuses of that. It definitely doesn't look like an easy trek out, but it would be worth it. You can see where the bridge used to be, and it clearly ain't there anymore :). Let me know if you guys ever do a tour.

    Petty at Half-time

Unfortunately it looks like the half-time show might be the most interesting thing that happens. Edit: Yeah! About time someone did something. NY 10, NE 7. Edit2: Brady's offensive line just showed up for the game with 2:42 remaining. 14-10 NE.

East Branch of the Wading River

Interesting. The river north of Harrisville is called the Oswego on all the current topos I can find. But on the old Cook map part of it east of Oswego Lake is called the East Branch of the Wading river. What got me thinking of this is a section in "Proceedings of the Academy of Natural...

The "March of Ives" a PBX Hike

It's fairly obvious from terrain (and Jerseyman's excellent evidence presented in the other thread) where the mill on Ives Branch used to sit. Now, what would be really amazing would be to find some remnant of the tub mill on Tub Mill Branch.
