    In cold or cool weather cotton is bad news.In hot weather it has great evaporative cooling qualities,the lower the humidity the better.However in the case of underwear it gets no air flow, so it just stays wet.

    when we were about 13 my friend caught a hog nose in the pines.he had about ten snakes at home at the time. He had a hard time finding toads and after awhile it got sick and died.I think it is best to just leave the critters in the woods.

    every state I have camped in allows you to camp where you will,why is Jersey the exception. Every other state also limits car access, it seems Jersey has it backwards.........how unusual.

    hammock camping

    Tried out the hammock this weekend in Shennandoah N.P. Takes a little getting used to but I liked it. storm came up Friday night and the wind pulled my fly back, I got a face full of cold rain but got squared away after that.

    I was mostly just in the sitka area, did some kayaking south of there,and some hiking out around town.I could never forget that place , hard to compare to anywhere else. Unique like the pine barrens. I am planning a trip for 7/4/07 back up there, I want to take the ferry north and kayak back.
