    Ancient Cedar Logs

Great thread, I always loved reading about the old growth logs being dragged up from the bottom of rivers. This is even more exciting as its so close to home, sounds cool how deep the soil is in the cedar swamps and how they lack grit so that you can saw right in them. Makes me wanna go digging...

    Alquatka Branch, a PBX Hike

That was a fun hike, thanks guys. I just wish I had more energy to enjoy that savanna as in retrospect it was an awesome sight that I would like to experience again, unfortunately by the time we got there all I could think of was getting back to the trucks :-(

OK I feel as though I inspired you here so I call dibs on one of your forthcoming big beers, hmmm best beer I ever had was about 3 years ago at Triumph in New Hope, twas a Blonde Doublebock, amazingly complex with multi flavors.

    Brew your own beer?

"I went to DogFish Head Brewery " "For the beer " damn good reason as they are fine brewers. I would give Mr.Beer a try as I might get bored with a 5 gallon batch of the same stuff. Problem is I would only want to brew big beers and according to the research I have read thats like 40 bucks a...

    Beer (again)

"I am beginning to think that the Lagunitas brews are the best beers I have had this century or the latter part of the last century. How is that for an accolade? Or is that alcolade?" I also love all their beers, particularly the Censored and Brown Shugga' , wow they are yummy. Actually at...

    Beer (again)

"My favorite "drinking" beer, when you just want to throw a bunch down with a freind or 2... Taste is above average for an American Lager and the price is the best feature..... $12.99 for a 30 pack" Hell after a few big bears if I am to continue I turn to Keystone ice, its also my pizza beer of...

PSE&G Proposes Wind Farm Off New Jersey Coast

I believe the problem with tall structures is that the migrating birds fly into them and die at night, according to the studies I have read anyway. However since they will provide good structure for the fisherman I suppose there will be a steady supply of chum also from above :-O

    Beer (again)

I didnt start drinking beer until college and then up until about 6 years ago it really didnt mean much and I drank stuff like coors or bud. Then I discovered good beer, beer with not only taste but with potentially big complex multi taste. I discovered doubles and triples and stouts and porters...

    Beer (again)

Wow the lack of appreciation for good beer here is disapointing :-( Although you can drink Bud and Coors and Genny out of the can with no difference to the taste, I would rather drink diet Coke as those beers are a waste of good calories. Its a big world out there and I think the beer is like...

    An icy beaver pond

Wow that is one big beaver pond. I used to see lots of them up in Maine and they were always small in the middle of the woods along a tiny stream. Are there many lodges there ? Looks like it could support a lot of them, although they do work hard like uh beavers.
