A Great Day In The Pines

My bad.. its so they don't have to travel on land where they are more at risk. Are we being graded on typing when this is through? If so, you lose a point too for spelling "herbivoires" wrong (joking).

PS.. My favs are all from the Domican. If you can find Haitian rum, even better.

    Beer (again)

Not sure how much you do, or do not know, about rum, but when purchasing from companies in Central and South America, many use the 5 star system on the neck of the bottle.. 4 or 5 stars is a very good rum. The stars are out of 5, but I've had many a good 3 star rums too. Most of these rums I...

A Great Day In The Pines

In regards to the beaver, I dont completely comprehend the strategy behind trapping them. I've heard this voiced on this site multiple times. For a site full of nature lovers, Im interested in knowing the motive behind this. I dont see how they're obstructing the "natural flow" when that...

    Flying Squirrel

I used to rent a house on a few acres in Brick, NJ (hard to believe theres some land in Brick) and we had them in the yard quite often. We'd mostly see them at dusk while on the back deck. Pretty sure some of them lived in our walls too. Great photos. Never saw them so close up before.

    Beer (again)

Chimay Grande Reserve takes the cake.. not sure of the color though. Compared to other stuff on the market, they all rate high in my book. Cant see any tasting "awful." Must of uncorked bad bottle.

    This country is doomed!

Thats a good one. Reminds me of another quote by a founder, Patrick Henry: “The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.” (Sorry, I...

A Great Day In The Pines

Bob, I've seen you cutting your lawn with that hat on. If you ever see us with our hats on, they too were purchased while staying with friends in Fort Worth, TX. We usually go down there for 2 weeks every summer. Doesnt seem right buying a cowboy hat in these parts.

Northern State Prison in Newark still makes them for Jersey. Not sure about our other jails. My ma and paw are there.

Im a sucker for the lean-to's at Bass River.. never know when its going to rain and its not fun trapped in a tent, unless you have a Playmate in there with you.

    Beer (again)

Im sure the days of old took the cake, but if there was an award for the traditional "bar of the pines," what would be some suggestions. I've never made it down to the Silver Fox, but it sounds cool. Heres some of my personal favs: Woodshed- Chatsworth Hedger House- Chatsworth Mayo's-...

    Beer (again)

I was completely joking about the denial thing. A lot of beers have strange names these days. To be honest, Im not too picky at all. Ill pick up a Pabst or an expensive micro and still smile. I probably wouldnt have picked up the beer with the long name if not for the name (and the word of...
