    Mullica Steam Boat

I was going to say the same thing! The original AQ is still in Key Largo, FL (where I first went in 1973). Steam engines are great.

Conn. Mountain lion was proved to be Wild

I used to spend a lot of time in a fairly remote part of the northern Catskill mountains in NY. One time a local feller told me he had been out hunting very early in the morning, hiding behind a big rock, and he watched a fight between a wild cat and a much larger black cat that he called a...

Those sunset photos are incredible, all of them, but, like Guy, the second one is my favorite. It's hypnotic!

I pulled a car out of the sand this morning.

The only time I ever got stuck and couldn't get out was that misadventure that I mentioned on another thread. But being an extremist I picked an extreme place to get stuck where nobody ever comes by to rescue me. If you're going to go to the trouble of getting stuck you might as well do a...

BI - That technology produces such spectacular effects, as it does in your great photos. I don't know how to do it but I've seen it before. I just googled this to get an idea of the software: http://captainkimo.com/hdr-software-review-comparison

"I never saw guys riding the rails in jeeps like that before!" No old bo's here to correct my misuse of the term "riding the rails"?

    Profile: Tom Brown Jr.

I watched the video. Very interesting. I like the house they built. No, I don't believe Mr Brown's stories and he kind of rubbed me the wrong way, but I don't know him, just what I read and the time I heard him talk - and there were various things in his talk that I deemed silly at the time...

Maybe I should leave them the way they are, if that's OK with you, Guy. You might have noticed that I've deleted some pictures already. I'm ambivalent about posting recognizable photos of people online, especially without their permission.

    Profile: Tom Brown Jr.

Resurrecting this old thread I see that a lot of you guys got the same impression of Tom Brown - allegedly brought up by an Apache indian in the old indian ways in the NJ Pine Barrens - as did I, and that was reinforced by my listening to him and seeing him in person, when he gave a talk at...

    4 Rattlesnakes Along a Road

:) Apropos of the above - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045826/combined I'm an Ed Wood Jr. fan, or is that anti-fan. Plan 9 is the best, I mean the worst, though. Those bushes down there, I've never seen so many ticks. They were thick with them. I hate ticks. I got a bunch on and in me in...

Great photos, Guy! I especially love the ones up in the trees. Famous old John Muir used to climb trees in blizzards to better experience the storm. I never saw guys riding the rails in jeeps like that before! Does the Jersey Central approve? And speaking of places that I found but never found...

Ha ha, nah. Whoever happens to be with me, Guy, or if I'm by myself the self timer. Once I had my friend the Jersey Devil take the pictures but I had to teach him not to shake the camera when he pushed the shutter button and it was more trouble than it was worth. He's kind of clumsy.

I really love your photography. How did you make this sunset shot? Are you combining multiple images, one exposed for the sea and land and one for the sky? http://www.chaseschieferphotography.com/#/45
