    Ticks explode

We called cattails punks also but the punks that we bought at the candy store (man now I really feel old!) were basically an incense stick with no fragrance on them so by themselves, they had a nice woody sort of burning smell, much different than cattails but just as pleasant when you're a kid.

    What are these geometric patterns?

I found these patterns cut into the forest roughly within a triangle of Rt. 539, rt. 72 and Savoy Blvd. My speculation is that they are some sort of aviation navigation aid or a satellite calibration pattern but there is nothing to be found anywhere on the internet explaining what it is.
