    Got Stranded

Perhaps our members could put together an "emergency contact list". Sure, you didn't have a cell phone, but when you made it to WalMart, contact would've been made from there. With my daily driver being a 4wd F150 & having a built CJ7 (w/winch, hi-lift, etc) sitting at home, I'd be happy to...

    Ace Campgrounds, Re-Revisited

Road Sign? I remember for years there was (and I think it's still there) a sign that says "Campground" with an arrow at the corner of 542 & Richards Ave. Would this sign have pointed the way to ACE Campground? My dad says we camped there in the 70's. He's looking for pictures.

    Old Backhoe?

About 10 years ago, I remember happening upon an old backhoe/steamshovel. While cruising my Jeep thru what we used to call "Log Road" (it was a short trail with logs laid to stabilize the swampy ground) I remember that it's east of 206, south of Atsion. Does anyone know the history as to how...

    Harrisville Ruins

Artesian Well There's one at the Weymouth Ruins. Also, a few years ago, I maintained all of the sewer grinder pumps along Cedar Run Dock Rd in Stafford/Eagleswood Twps. One of the old timers has an artesian well on his property. Whenever I was in the area, he'd see me & bring me water from the...

A day in The Pines... *PICS 56K beware!*

Real nice pics.....the trailride sounds great! Problem is, I always identify folks by their vehicles. Since you were out with twin Jeeps (almost) I'd be all confused!!!!! All kidding aside, It looks like ya had a great day!

    Quaker Bridge Road

I was driving on Quaker Bridge Road last weekend myself. My big old CJ7 was about rattling apart. Noisy, banging, the rear locker wanted to keep sending it sideways. I don't know how, but my teenage nephew slept thru it.???????

    Paintball: good, bad, or ugly?

Agree with Largo....stick to designated areas. Paint stays around for awhile, but the biggie is when people build "bunkers" throughout their play area.

    Silver Fox Inn

Funny....... Back in the mid-80's, we used to drive past every Saturday & Sunday taking our boats to Crawley's Landing. My buddies & I used to talk about it being the wierdest place. We used to speculate that if you went in there, they'd kill you, put you in the freezer & serve you to the next...

    What's Your Favorite Gear?

I'll agree with Ben, on the GPS. I usually have my Meridian Platinum on even if I have a good idea where I'm going. LL Bean rain jacket, Polartec fleece, Wolverine boots + LaCrosse rubber muck boots. Cabela's gore-tex boot gators (also good for keeping the chiggers off) Also, does my tried &...
