ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

At least do me the service of quoting me if you are going to make a claim like that. That is no where close to anything I said. I thought we had a good resolution with the volunteer photo, I really appreciated you compromising there.

    Lower Forge-High Crossing Road

I'm really saddened by the attitude on here guys, especially in trying to convince other people not report illegal activity. These sites need to be reported. I was back there recently(beginning of September) and I didn't spot that site or I certainly would have reported it. If anyone wants to...

Are Artesian Wells Safe for Drinking?

Well, I have drunk a few gallons from the Artesian well at the Weymouth Furnace, but once they put the "Not safe for drinking" sign up I mostly stopped. I may test the water myself there now after reading your post to see what it is they are warning about.

Minimal Water Level to Paddle Rivers

I paddle quite a bit. I would say your levels are right on with the Oswego. I have run it below 2.8 but there is some scraping to for sureand walking from time to time in a canoe. The hardest part on low Water is the Martha pond area where there are many stumps on which to stub ones toes. Oswego...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I am common folk. I personally want as many people into the Pines and Wharton as we can get. I want citizens to care about this place as much as you all do and I'm sorry if I offended you previously. We need to stick together on the big picture even if we disagree on some issues.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

My friend, there are off-road groups organizing against this management plan. Are you saying that is not the case? I have already promised to include a more diverse term in future member emails.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

"Iron in the Pines" is one. There are plenty of others. I will include "motor-vehicle enthusiasts of varying stripes" in my next email. "We’re the oldest (and funnest) off-road club in the southern and central New Jersey area and we want to welcome you to the world of off-roading. This is...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I'm not your enemy guys. I support this management for good reason and I know you here also have good reasons why you're against it.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I certainly don't want to lump you all together, but in a blanket email it really needs to be short so it is read. The nuances of the motor vehicle enthusiasts would be more than what an e-mail such as that would be useful for explaining.

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

I don't, but I may have to try to marry in with the quality of food they are serving.

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

I agree with you for the most part. My understanding of the plan is that it is designed to allow the Park Police to patrol less exit and entrance points, allowing them to have better coverage around a perimeter. In other news I was hanging out with Kevin H last night photographing the Winslow...

You have my respect. Thank you for compromising.

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

Im fair game here Ben. If you want to keep that post and blur out the other people I have no problem with that. I did not say that it has resulted in threats. I am saying that it very well could now that this is being put out there without the correct context. This opinion is based on what has...

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

All we knew at that time was there was a pond being damaged on a push cut that the Forest Fire Service put in during the fire in 08'. Rob had mentioned to me he was working on something new to manage the forest with all the ORV damage and lack of money for maintenance over time.

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

I agree that it should have been shut down in the past. I believe that part of this plan is fixing mistakes made for budgetary or other reasons. Some of those volunteers might not even support the Map. They have no political stake, they just wanted to protect that pond and now Ben has helped...

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

My apologies. I agree that it is an issue filled with grey areas. I don't want to provide the exact coordinates to the pond because it could just increase the damage the site has already seen if the coordinates spread out from this forum. Education and enforcement here will be the true...

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

The concept is debatable on whether or not it will work without a large increase in enforcement, but I am certainly up for giving this thing a chance. We together should lobby our government for stronger enforcement out there. Many of these locations are not going to restore to their previous...

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

hey Woodjin, its good to have your voice in the conversation here. I don't blame tools[4x4s], I even think some of them are cool. Ben's denial of it being a pushcut was based on him not knowing where it was and he still won't update the post. This post by Ben is being spread on the internet and...

Your Forest Under Attack: MAP Misinformation from the DEP

It was a push line cut by the Forest Fire Service during a fire. These push cuts are temporary and always meant to be closed. The pond that the push cut lead to was being destroyed by off-roaders and littered with bonfire pits and hundreds of beer cans and other types of refuse. We removed the...
