    Comcast Mail

I bought my mom an iPad Pro four years ago and it’s the best money I have ever spent. It’s a lot cheaper than having to pay a psychiatrist to listen to me tell him how I’m losing my mind spending 3-4 hours every week removing viruses from my mother’s windows computer from all the “free software”...

N.J. will give residents at least $100 credit to help pay for soaring electric bill bills, Murphy says

Wow, that’s really good! I have 2200 sq ft. My electric bill last month was $410 and the bill says we used less electric for the same time period last year, which seems impossible, considering how hot July was this year.

    Comcast Mail

Oh no, my 87 year old mother uses Xfinity email. Here’s the transcript of an upcoming phone call I’ll have with her. Phone rings… “Hello.” “It’s mom. I can’t get my email to work.” “What’s your password?” “I don’t know.” “What’s your email address?” “I don’t know.” “Well, mom, how...

N.J. will give residents at least $100 credit to help pay for soaring electric bill bills, Murphy says

I had a wood fireplace when I lived in Vineland. Nothing beats wood for the comfort and ambiance of a fire, but starting a wood burning fire is labor intensive and, if you don’t have a few hours to hang out near your fireplace, it’s just not worth the effort. The house I’m in now has a gas...

A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

I think the fine for fishing without a license is $150 today? I know it’s hard to believe, but NJ has one of the lowest fees for a fishing license in the country. I spent 8 days fishing in Maine last year and the licensing fees for a 10 day out of state fishing license was around $45.00.

A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

About 30 years ago I was working in a house in Mullica Hill and the guy I was working for starts screaming and cursing and runs out of the room and returns with a 30 caliber rifle. He yanks open the sliding door and starts firing into his back yard. I was about to run out of the house because I...

A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

Unless these treasure hunts start leading to crowds of people in the pines throwing trash on the ground, destroying plants, trees, digging holes, etc., I’d like to see law enforcement focus their attention elsewhere. What I would like to see is a little better enforcement on New Jersey’s...

    They’re back.

I use Sawyer. Maybe once a year I’ll find myself in a situation where I spray it directly on my clothes/shoes while I’m hiking. I normally just pretreat my clothes and shoes. But you’re correct. You shouldn’t spray it on your clothes while you’re wearing them and never on your skin. Honestly...

    They’re back.

I generally avoid hiking in places where I’m going to rub up against weeds, grass or brush in Sept/Oct. I pretreat my pants and trail runners with permethrin, but then I carry it with me and incase I look down and see a sea of chiggers/tick larvae crawling on me. I know more people who have...

A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

If they ever make the object you have to find to win the prize a contact lens I’m a shoe in to win.

    They’re back.

September has always been the worst month for me with chiggers. All you have to do is brush up against the wrong blade of grass and you’ll have a clump of them appear on your pants.

Amazon to build distribution center at AC Racetrack

I think Malls in general are in decline around the country because more people are shopping online. I can remember when there was a dozen places to eat at the Food Court at the Hamilton Mall. Now it looks like a ghost town.

Amazon to build distribution center at AC Racetrack

I guess that’s a good location for them because of the proximity to the Atlantic City Expressway and the Garden State Parkway, but I’m not looking forward to the additional traffic congestion when I go to BJ’s or the Hamilton Mall.

South Jersey Farmers Struggle with Unpredictable Weather Conditions

Just curious. What do you do with the tobacco? Do you dry it, process it and smoke it?

Surveillance Camera Use in Wharton State Forest Draws Objections from Legislators, Open Trails NJ

I don’t like the presence of cameras in the pine barrens, particularly on hiking trails. It’s not only an unnecessary level of surveillance, but let’s face it, if you spend a day exploring an area you’re going to have to go to the bathroom. I don’t want to have to worry that I’m in view of a...

    Snakehead

Unfortunately, snakeheads have probably already infested half the lakes in South Jersey. They are always caught on some lakes in bass tournaments.

Still Trying To Solve Issues With My Car One Year Later

Thanks for the feedback. My Tacoma came with Hankook tires. I got 70,000 miles out of them, so I replaced them with the same tire. Not sure if the quality has slipped, but the Hankook’s I have on the truck currently are looking pretty worn at 49k, so I’m going to go with something different this...

Still Trying To Solve Issues With My Car One Year Later

I’m going to guess $838 + tax? Just kidding, I read your post. :) I’m going to replace the tires on my Tacoma this summer or fall. I’m looking at Michelin Defender. Looks like Costco has the best out the door price at around $1,050.

Still Trying To Solve Issues With My Car One Year Later

Car repairs have gone up quite a bit since I started driving. I can remember replacing all four tires for less than $200. You can’t even buy one decent tire for $200 today. I just had my shocks and struts replaced, and the pump for my windshield washer fluid. $2,500.

Big Fire Near The Boot Camp

There was a sign up saying the Batona Trail near Carranza was closed, so I accessed the area about a mile west of there on dirt roads that were not closed.
