GMC Truck Long Hidden In The Pines

Its owner probably replaced the bed. In post #11 you can see where the bed was cut to accommodate the fuel filler pipe. The cab looks pretty much untouched, except for the wonderful patina :) It was probably just left to the rust God's where it broke down.

GMC Truck Long Hidden In The Pines

Are you saying the truck is a mutt? GMC with an IH bed? Perhaps that is why the fuel filler location was cut out.

On the firewall is where you mentioned. Logical place for a body/cab tab. The chart does show info of a model 350 for 1948 but that is an assumption on my part, may just be coincidence.

On a '48 Chevy, but I doubt it is still there, probably fell off; and would look like this; The plate you show is most likely the cab/body plate. Taking a guess, it is a 350 model PU. http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/page0013.html

    What are these Tools

I used something similar, but it had a 'pot' at the end instead of a ring, to make sinkers. Maybe those are for making egg mcmuffins ;)

Someone restoring one could certainly use those body parts, they have a nice patina :)

It might depend on the type of bed, short or long. This is a short.

Grille is wrong. I would say it is a late 40's; guessing 47 or 48 GMC.

    Fall/Winter Stone Searching 2019/2020

I recall taking a ride thru Greenwood a few years back. Turned onto a side road near the Quail fields that looked fine until we started down a sloped portion. There was a thin coating of muddy water over ice, unreal how slippery it was, like driving a toboggan, could not turn around, just...

    Fall/Winter Stone Searching 2019/2020

The company my Son works for was waiting for a delivery. They got a call from the driver that he was lost and stuck. He was on a sand road out near Coyle . Followed his GPS :) Took 2 days for the tow service to get him out.

You could use hunter pink or green. Other states use those colors in addition to hunter orange. https://www.amazon.com/Armycrew-Visibility-Color-Winter-Beanie/dp/B07DX86GH1/ref=sr_1_38?dchild=1&keywords=safety%2Bgreen%2Bhats%2Bfor%2Bmen&qid=1577417230&sr=8-38&th=1&psc=1

I think the Larch are in that area. Hope they escape the saw, but they do get pretty tall. Those cut tree's would sure make a nice log cabin :)

With a CC, law limits your exposure to $50 if you report it within the time frame. A debit card's protection is not that good, especially if you fail to notice an unauthorized charge.

    Tip Shakedown

The bluetooth version has already been hacked. Usually when a new method is released the hackers target it until someone succeeds, very much a game with them. Personal due diligence for one's accounts is probably the most reliable method.
