    Group get together?

Thanks for all the replys. Let me know when you would want to do this. Just so you know we should be getting Pabst Blue Ribbon very soon!!:guinness: Haha, I know there are some PBR drinkers out there. Just to let you know Atco is doing very well and 2007 was our best year yet. Hard to...

    Group get together?

Pardon the selfless promotion but I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in having a get together at Atco Raceway? I know some people got together at the Silver Fox and it sounded like a great idea. So I want to put the offer out there. I work at Atco Raceway and can get everyone in...

    Corduroy road found, maybe.

Well, I'm not really sure yet but I think so. I was poking around the woods today after work and ended up driving down two small side roads. It got tight so I parked the truck and decided to do it on foot. Soon after that I walked upon a large puddle with ruts on one side. It was obvious that...

    More ATV news.

http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/top_story/story/7531323p-7433256c.html I would say Assembly Bill 823 sounds a little harsh. Getting your drivers license suspended for ATV riding, come on! Only in this state. The state can keep increasing the fines and punishments yet they keep reneging...

    Tires for my Jeep Wrangler

I think it really has more to do with ice and wet pavement. Mud terrians I would imagine do very well in wet snow. I guess it doesn't really snow that much around here anyway. I have driven trucks with mud terrians and it did skid around a bit on wet pavement. Probably some of the newer...

    Tires for my Jeep Wrangler

Check out www.tirerack.com. I go on there to read the reviews before I shell out all that money for new tires. Here's my .02 worth. BF Goodrich All Terrains K/O are the old standby, there is a reason they have been around so long. Stepping up to a mud tire does obviously help in well mud but...

    Governor's Speech

Omega you're correct about Corzine giving the speech to the Senators and other assemblypeople. I didn't really look at it that way, especially when it is front page stuff and seems like he is talking to me. Regardless it struck me the wrong way. I think they should cut more but you are...

    Governor's Speech

Andy I agree with you when talking about the big rigs. Tractor trailers have been getting hit hard with gas and high tolls. Now those tolls will be 50% higher for them. Those trucks are hauling goods for us and what happens is that cost gets passed along to the consumer. Simply put, prices...

    Governor's Speech

I meant I was kind of offended by the way Corzine asked if anyone else had a better plan. He said something like that a couple times. Saying things like, "I have seen the numbers" and if you have a better plan, show it to me, if not shut up. Serisously, I just taken back a bit by that...

    Governor's Speech

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2008/01/corzine_challenges_critics_to.html Didn't know if anyone had heard it or read it and had any comments. I don't really drive on the turnpike anymore so the toll hike won't kill me but I feel bad for people that do commute on it. I think a toll raise...

    Puddles

The mention of those "humps" got me all excited. I always called them whoops and some people call them whoop dee do's (spelling?). I'm more of an ATV guy and yes, even the ATV's can skip across them like motocross bikes. I'll always remember a guy teaching me how to ride across whoops back by...

Where did the name Atco come from?

Some people I work with asked me this question and I have heard a couple of different answers. One is the town was named after the Atlantic Transportation Company because the trains would roll through and people would see the name and shorten it to Atco. The other was it was an Indian word...

    Dingletown

What Jerseyman said reminded me that there were some African American families living in that area years ago. The families seemed to be located either on Dingletown Road, Tuckerton Road between Oakshade and 206 and also on Flyatt Road. Irving Fryar's (ex-WR for the Eagles) mother was born in...

    Chatsworth Atv park

Does this mean no vehicles in the woods? So I should park my truck at Atsion and walk into the Wharton State Forest if I want to explore. If we should only walk in the woods than fine, everyone with a vehicle out. So to any birdwatchers who might want to cut down a dirt road to go look...

    Chatsworth Atv park

I agree that the off road community has to become more orgainized and I think they are trying with groups such as NJOHVA and the Atlantic Grand Prix racing series is also great. I believe Dale Frietas is behind both of them. If the off road community came together and decide to buy a certain...

    Chatsworth Atv park

http://www.nj.gov/dep/newsrel/2006/06_0068.htm This shows how much money the state got from the federal government for trails in 2006. I think it says 1.7 million dollars. It states in that document that the money is to be used for hiking, some other uses and also motorized vehicles. Yet...

    Chatsworth Atv park

The problem I have (one of many, haha) is the part about the state saying it is illegal to ride in or on state property. Which means you can't ride in state forests. I don't feel that it should be illegal to ride in the state forests. The PPA says they are all for "legal" riding, that's part...

    Off Road Woe

I think you are supposed to register your ATV in New Jersey but why? You can't get a tag for it and you can't ride anywhere unless it is private property with permission or in an off road park. Besides that you are out of luck. If that is the case why bother registering it?

    Off Road Woe

"Several years ago, the state Department of Environmental Protection estimated that up to 300,000 acres of New Jersey land had been damaged by off-road vehicles — and that was before the activity’s popularity skyrocketed." An area basically three times the size of the Wharton State Forest has...

    Square concrete boxes

Check this out: http://www.jldr.com/ohcorner.html Might shed some more light on this. If I had to guess I would say it is an outhouse. Maybe the corner seat variety is just not as common. Pretty cool though.
