    Camping on Delaware Water Gap

It might be a bit chilly to canoe/camp the Delaware this time of year, but I can attest that this river, including the Gap area, is fine for canoeing and camping (though I'm not sure how legal the latter is?). Al and I paddled 125 miles of this river many, many, many moons ago (back when I...

    Knockin' Around

There's something profoundly relaxing about a pine grove. Nice photos, George. Your rows make me want to revisit a grove of white pine I haven't been to in years; it's down in Belleplain State Forest. Rednek's "majestic feel" description nails it ... Bill

    Puddles

I mentioned getting stuck near Oswego Lake (it happened a couple of months back) on the "Stuck!" thread; it was in a deep hole on the road to Bear Swamp Hill from the lake (as a matter of fact, it might have been in the first puddle encountered). I'd taken this road several times previously...

    stuck!

Yeah, never say never. :) My first incident came during one of my recent photo shoots (near midnight, of course), at Oswego Lake, when I tried a hole that wasn't nearly as deep as I'd remembered. The front of my truck did a submarine thing -- nearly totally submerged! Smoke and bubbles. I...

    Stephen Creek and Maple Lake

The sunset photo needs to win some sort of an award. Beautiful! And the briar looks downright sinister. :) Lovely photos, Boyd. Bill

Thanks for the compliments. I was surprised to see a few other vehicles wandering the sand roads last night; the hour, Christmas eve. While Santa jingled ... skit friendship Bill

    barren nights

Christmas Eve presented a full moon. I hated to leave my family during the holiday festivities, so I drug them along. :) I wandered around Skit Branch, Friendship and the Tulpehocken with the camera. I'd like to share some of the photos here, of course (this makes it all more worth while)...

Looking for Pre-Owned Electric Golf Cart

I drive by a commercial business just about every day that specializes in used golf carts. They're located on Doughty Rd. -- just off Delilah Rd. (Rt. 646) in Egg Harbor Twp (about 15 minutes from Atlantic City). They always seem to have a dozen or so on display in front of their location. I...

    Tick sighting

I found a tick crawling along my bluejeans the other day. "It's December!" I said to the fella, before punting him back into the woods. Who knows, maybe, before long, we'll enjoy their company year 'round. :( Bill

Question: Is there a setting somewhere that would enable one to view photos in threads while logged in? It's a "can't do" here, anyway. As a result, I stay logged out most of the time, which is the only way I can see photos and avatars. Thanks! Bill

Apologies for the photo-image distortions; their mood is intended to suggest the strange, haunting beauty this photographer senses when wandering the sand roads at night. Thanks for looking, Bill

    Sweat Lodges in the Pines?

Having been drug by the author of the previous post to many of his briar-surrounded islands, I can rightly say that the quoted portion qualifies as the understatement of the year. :)

    barren nights

Thanks for the compliments. I've been trying to capture the mood the barrens offer at night -- though I suppose my photo perspectives often come across rather warped. :) Regarding the photos above, everybody seems to like the bottom two, but the one I like best is the second one down. The...

    barren nights

I've been lumping most of my photos in another thread ... but I'll start another. Al and I took another ride to the barrens tonight hoping to catch some images under the full moon. Alas, clouds. I tried to make do with what little available light there was (with an occasional flare provided...
