    Flying Squirrel

I think they are one of the most interesting animals in Jersey. They are a few that live in my back yard. A bunch of us were out behind my house and we were clearing some shrubs out...I guess we spooked it and it flew out of the tree. We all looked at each other and said "Did that squirrel...

    Winslow WMA(Blue Hole)

I've seen the same thing out in Menantico Ponds area....the truck was flipped over, striped of everything (engine, tires, etc.) and set on fire. I've seen many dumb things in my life....but what makes someone think setting something on fire is a good thing (other than roasting marshmellows)...

    Tick today

Deer ticks...the smaller ones that are the shape of a Sesame seed (which are the main carrier of lymes), are out all year long, but like the cooler temps......the winters here don't get cold enough to kill them off. When it is really cold....of corse they probably won't be out, but if it is...

    Hampton Furnace trashed

I hate this so much.....I just don't understand how it is any easier to bag your trash, load it in a vehicle, drive it half mile in the woods and dump it in an attractive location rather than put it in a dumpster. I just don't get it. I see this all the time and I have actually looked through...

    Any good herping areas

I can't thank you "all" enough for your advice. I really appreciate it. And for the record....I didn't even know I was doing it, but if I lifted a log I would put it back. Not even knowing why. I guess from getting my butt beat from my mom all those years for not putting my things where they...

    Dead rattler....

I wonder how many people acutally try to hit the snake because they don't like them instead of knowing the importance of the species and try not to hit them. I've seen a pine dead on that road last year....right pass the white line. I did the same and moved the poor thing out of the road.

    Any good herping areas

I'm taking a class and I need to boost my identification skills up (on snakes). I don't know what the heck I am doing out there other than walking blindly around lifting up every log I can. Any input would help. Thanks

Coyote eats pet chihuahua in NJ

To a coyote....a chihuahua is such an easy meal. If the coyote didn't get it......a hawk might have. :) Knowing there are coyotes in NJ people should be more aware of letting there bite sized dogs outside alone.
