2F at 7:30 here and no wind. At 7 it was -3F. Thermometer on the deck. NWS says it is 3F at Miller Air Park.

Probably hypothermic, after that happens nature takes over. Read the article I posted earlier in another thread, i.e. freezing to death. It explains it in detail. My dentist is a winter camping aficionado, I think Kayak Karl is as well. And then there are the winter surfers.

This is the good 'ole days. Wear the right clothing and it is downright enjoyable to me, no crowds or blood sucking insects ;) Fall and winter, 1 & 2. Spring is an eh, just tolerate the last one.

Probably sucking dirt and sand into a jet is a problem. I guess a smaller gun is in the pod on the belly of those test planes.

I think Basset Acres is the name of the weather station, maybe they own a Basset Hound. By the antenna's it looks like he is into shortwave radio. If you are just a block off the bay, the wind probably blew most of the snow you should have received, be happy for that ;)

Could not agree more. Just trying to point out that the measurement could come from just about anywhere. Bassett Acres? Is that a dog kennel?

JD, NOAA/NWS has a program of volunteer weather spotters. Our area, I am close to Bayville and we got at least 16" from the storm, probably comes from the MT Holly NWS location. I'm pretty sure anyone can take the training and become one of their spotters. Some info at the link...

The wind is really cranking here. Went out to leaf blower the leftovers off the back deck and its howling, had to put a pair of heavy of gloves on. Sitting here it sounds like a train going past outside. A night not fit for man nor beast.
