My son used to drive cross country. I recall a phone call from him one late night asking me to check on some roads. He was on his third trip on a road off the Cumberland Gap Pkwy in KY, with inches between his tires and a drop-off and had been that way for some time. His required to use...

Head out to Ouray CO and the San Juans  There are a ton of them in the Telluride/Ouray/Silverton area, lots of abandoned mines along the way. ;) http://www.narrowgauge.org/4x4/html/4X4.html

    Retreat

A good thing; if you haven't yet, check with your tax assessor to have your assessment lowered ;) Every time I visit someone in a retirement community I wonder how they do it.

Watching the destruction from Irma in the Keys of FL; reports are saying 25% of all homes in the keys are gone. Seeing these images it is also pretty obvious, at least to me, that a goodly number of those gone will probably be mobile homes. Powerful stuff.

We had a similar experience on our first trip to Yellowstone in the mid 70's. We were tent camping and looked over the maps one night, found this road that looped behind a mountain, Bunsen Peak, to a waterfall and decided to take it the next day. As I recall, about a half hour in the...

Has to be a hardside. Some NPS campgrounds we would like to get to out west do not allow soft sides/tents. We were considering the A-Liner A frame with hard sides, but want to keep it simple. But it would be nice to have an inside toilet :)

    National Flood Insurance Program

Do a quote on a property in the VE flood zone. It will be based on the properties current value and be 5 figures or more, this on top of the 'regular' home insurance policy. However, the max the homeowner would receive from the Fed flood insurance program for a total loss is $250K. Probably...

The one's we have looked at are a bit smaller. I think the 2 of us and a 100lb pooch will fit :D This is a Camp-Inn brand raindrop. 10ft long, 5ft wide, has an off-road option.

Coyote conspiracy: Myth, or state-business collusion?

Unfortnately, I doubt his disappearance will ever be resolved. I believe, do to his age, dementia, of one form or another, played a big part.

I'm looking for specific type of campsite.

You might give the Batsto Office a call (609) 561-0024, and describe what your looking for. If you need toilet facilities, you can always bring your own portable chemical unit. You can also review the various camp site maps on the Wharton web site...
