A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

Agreed. I've had to have a fishing license for the last 50 years as well. Probably been checked twice also. The only time I ever remember getting checked regularly for creel limits was as a kid when I used to fish for trout in stocked waters. New Jersey is definitely short on conservation...

Cigarettes were actually good for you back then. The Surgeon General sh*t on the whole parade.:(

    what is this item?

My quick conclusion was based on the fact that the poster said he found it on an old trail. Most hunters put their cameras over bait piles I am usually spying on carniverous critters and I occasionally capture a head-scratching individual who stumbles across my carcass piles. I had a guy this...

    what is this item?

Evidence of Big Brother keeping an eye on the trails. And I am not a conspiracy theory kind of guy.

America’s Toughest, Ugliest Warplane Is Going Back Into Battle

I love watching Youtube videos of the A-10's in real combat situations. Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappp!!!!!!!!!! Here's a good one. I like the second round just for insurance.

South Jersey Farmers Struggle with Unpredictable Weather Conditions

I make my own loose leaf chewing tobacco. I color cure it in my garage and shed and try to age it for a year or more. To make the chew I reduce apple juice to a thin syrup consistency on the stove in a stainless pan. I add a couple tablespoons of dark molasses, a couple pinches of salt and...

    Sleigh Bell In July

My guess is that it fell off a coonhound or foxhound collar. That area, and the Pines in general, are legendary fox hunting grounds. I had to stop for a fox last night that was running out of the Clark's Branch.

    No-see-ums

I will bet 100% Asian Tiger. I only associate No-see-ums with salt marsh environments. The Asian Tigers are silent and stealthy, and are active all day, unlike the standard US of A natives. We get killed by them every year in the yard.

    No-see-ums

I'm guessing you must be fairly close to salt marshes to have a problem with them Bob.. Are you ?

Generic cat. Bobcats have bobbed (short) tails and are more stout in stature.

South Jersey Farmers Struggle with Unpredictable Weather Conditions

My tobacco is loving this squirrelly weather, especially the ones in my wife's flower garden that I sneak in every year, even after she says "Don't even think about it!" :) Last year I had two hit 11 feet in height. Not normal for tobacco and I only whack them once with Osmocote 14-14-14.

    Small Fire In P'Town Today.

While driving home at around 4:30 tonight, my wife called to tell me that there was a fire in "our" woods and that the winds were from the south. She was a little frantic because I always told her that we will be cooked like bacon if we get a forest fire and there is a south wind. Coming...

    Beer (again)

The sky is the limit Guy! I treat myself to Dogfish Head 120 once in awhile, especially if it’s on tap at Dogfish Head in DE. Ranges from 18-20%, depending on the year. Dreamy, as I once described it. :)

    Beer (again)

All that Bell's talk had me checking out the Bell's aisle at Canal's in Berlin on Thursday when I was stocking up for this weekend. I grabbed a six of Hazy Hearted, their rendition of a hazy IPA. At 7.5% ABV, it just squeaked into my minimum standards for any beer.. :) Not bad. Clean tasting...

Still Trying To Solve Issues With My Car One Year Later

Hankooks? No thanks . My wife had Hankooks on her 2016 Explorer and they were dumpster-worthy at not much more than 30,000 miles. Replaced them with Continentals and she is over 90,000 miles now and might be ready for new sneakers at the end of this year.

Good luck Guy. I suspected CV joints when I asked you back in post #58. CV joints are horrible and don't belong on any vehicle that sees time in the woods, in my opinion. They barely belong on an ATV. Another reason I would never own a Chevy truck. Both of my Ford F-350's have solid axle tubes...

    Beer (again)

Good brew Bob. Bells was not distributed in NJ until maybe 10 years ago. I was glad to see that happen. I used to get it from my buddy whose daughter lived in SC. I rated it 3.75 out of 5 on Untappd If you ever have the opportunity, try their Hopslam Imperial Double IPA. A walloping 10%er that...

Thank you Bob, that is a very generous offer. We should be okay though. Dottie can use either of my trucks since she can drive a stick. She doesn't like the size of the white truck and doesn't like driving a stick but she does fine with it.. I am hoping this should only last 6-8 weeks tops and...
