DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

“The new visitor map for Wharton State Forest is a wonderful opportunity for the public to understand where to go, how to get there, and what to do in the keystone of the Pinelands,” said Jason Howell... What a crock!

    Strange lights over the Pines

I can definitely rule them out. These lights appeared in succession to form a straight line, after which they would disappear only to reappear seconds later. Edited to add a detail: The lights were stationary.

    Strange lights over the Pines

Reviving this old thread. The UFO/UAP phenomenon has been a subject that I've taken a lot of interest in for the past several years. I stumbled across this report while looking for other accounts of what I saw on 3/1/06. Surely enough, someone reported seeing the same thing...

DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

Translation: We shouldn't complain about loss of freedom since there are other places that have even less freedom. Solid argument, Jason.

DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

They have the road to the Forks open. I think that was closed on the last version of the MAP. Edit: Is there talk of permanently closing West Mill Rd?

    The MAP is back

Jon, You wrote: "You can all speak to each other without dissenting voices." You also wrote: "I don't belong here. I have a different world view than the rest of you." Sounds like you are the one who wants an echo chamber without dissenting voices.

    The MAP is back

I agree about Tony. The vast majority of people here here engage in civil debate, if they engage in debate at all. Tony and Jon are exceptions to that rule.

    The MAP is back

We like civil debate and discussion here, Jon. This is not the first time that this particular debate has triggered an emotional outburst from you. If you can't keep your composure during a disagreement, then I'd suggest simply refraining from participating in such discussions. Would be a shame...

    Mystery Mounds

A number of sensible, thought-provoking hypotheses. I admit I'm a sucker for fluvial explanations. I wonder if our own @Spung-Man would subscribe to permafrost crack idea, as he has suggested such an explanation for the patterned ground found along Indian Branch...

    Mystery Mounds

It is still a matter of debate, but the aeolian hypothesis makes sense (nabkhas). Perhaps @Spung-Man can chime in. Another interesting and maybe even compelling hypothesis is that they were formed by gophers. Yes, gophers. https://www.livescience.com/41693-mima-mound-mystery-explained.html

None of these in the Pine Barrens (that I'm aware of), but very interesting. What do you think they are?
