    Beer (again)

Souther Tier's Old Man Winter is a good one. Has anyone had Lancaster's winter ale? I'm currently drinking an Oscar Blues Gubna. Excellent imperial IPA. If you have a low budget, its a good beer to buy. Only $16 a four pack!

How bout that? The best Eagles game I can remember. Certainly the most spectacular comeback. Miracle in the Meadowlands part two?

    Facebook Too Big?

I place it with any kind of service, game or phone. We need to get back to the time when people served themselves, didn't waste time on games, and relied on the written word for long-distance communication. And that goes for the internet as well. I refuse to use it.

    Burnt Cabin Branch

Jeff, I'd bet that the cabin was not built in the swamp, but along the creek that shares the name.

    Burnt Cabin Branch

Perhaps the stream Al is looking for is one of the two little tributaries that feed into the Oswego from the south? http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.721811020926914&lng=-74.42009925842285&z=16&type=topo&gpx=...

All in all, that is a great improvement! Loads much faster. But those lines admittedly piss me off. Why are they there?

    Found at Quaker Bridge

Nice find, Mark. Perhaps the tree had grown over it, exposing it when it fell over? And no, Batsto won't care to take it.

    Batsto Forge

Here's a little timeline: 1739 – Samuel Cripps dams the Nescochague Creek not far upstream from its confluence with Atsion Creek and builds a saw mill. 1781 – Joseph Ball rebuilds and extends Cripp’s dam, digs out a raceway and builds a forge. Also around this time, Ball dams the...

    Batsto Forge

Here's a map, Bob. http://gallery.njpinebarrens.com/showphoto.php/photo/14506/title/forge-map/cat/all I had just typed up a brief historical background for the area, but I was logged off by the time I posted it lost it. You'll just have to come out there with me and I'll tell you then.

    Batsto Forge

Bob, You have to see the things I've found along that creek this past summer. Very cool stuff. I'll draw a map up and post it here. And yes, what you say about the slag makes sense.
