ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I will be writing all of my State reps tomorrow. In the meantime, I started a thread on New Jersey Hunter in the Conservation forum a on the topic. I was sadly surprised that most of the hunters that read it had no problem with the closures. I wrote this tonight on there in response: Thanks...

    Which Way Is Up ?

I took this photo of our springer Murphy a few weeks ago back here and when I emailed it to myself out of my phone it came in upside down. I fixed it but also saved the original. The more I look at the original, the more I like it. Good old Murph is 6 now and I am sure he has a lot of good years...

    Quarter Mile Revisited

Thanks Guy. Your photographs make the case for targeted enforcement in and around a known problem area.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I went only about 3/4 mile past the road into Lock's today to see if the road was blocked. I turned around and ran the dog around Lock's for awhile. I can't believe they blocked the road back to Boot Hill and the bogs. That stretch back to 206 is my little world in the fall and winter...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Thanks for all of your help Y-Buc-Bill. Missed you last night. I made a presentation to our club members and it spurred a lot of questions, along with a lot of anger. It was especially troubling for our members who are also members of strictly deer clubs.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Well, no more levity from me. These road closures are a shocking disgrace and I surely hope and pray that the means by which this whole thing transpired is found to be illegal. I also hope and pray that Robert Auermuller loses his job if it can be proven that he has circumvented due process with...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

My dog is insisting that this road be closed. The mud smells and there are bugs in it. He gets yelled at a lot by his mother too when returning from the woods. Where can I get some of these signs ?

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Thank God Parks and Forestry has been working hard on other serious problems as well ! The anxiously awaited policy on the use of drones over State Parks and Forestry Lands was issued this month. It's about time, I was tired of getting hit in the head by those things...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Thanks for acting covertly on behalf of thousands of people you don't know and whose recreational pursuits in the Pines are now seriously affected. Blocking multiple roads with signs will do absolutely nothing to stop the damage. Surveillance of specific targets, enforcement and swift...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I very strongly disagree Guy. If no one volunteered to perform such a total boning of the general public the State would have been forced to utilize their own staff to do the dirty work. At least it would have taken a lot longer to accomplish the same nefarious goal. As some may know, I am not...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Absolutely not Ben. The Lock's Bridge area is a case in point and is really burning me badly. I am back there at least 15 times a year hunting with or without the dogs or just enjoying the area with my wife. There is no damage there or along any of the other roads leading down to the Mullica...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

That list of action items should have been cut after item 4. If those action items 1-4 were in fact advanced through public policy, we wouldn't be talking about road closures today.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

You are absolutely right. I would never volunteer to help close down any part of the woods. I would gladly volunteer to assist with the placement of cameras or better yet, spike strips, in the more problematic areas. Cameras are now being used effectively to combat the dumping problems and there...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Have they locked out Lock's ? This is bullsh&t. Personally, I am banking on the continued lack of sufficient State Parks and Forestry personnel. Imagine if these tree hugging , khaki wearing, LL Bean/REI poster children volunteers were alive when the pines were exploited for their...

Plane Lands On Highway In Ocean County, New Jersey (Rt 72)

Holy S word ! When I read 72 I was automatically thinking of the stretch through the pygmies near Barnegat Wreckers. That would have been a much better place to crash land.

    Tick removal

We have had one for at least 5 years. We use it literally 2-3 times per week on the dogs. She had to use it on me last week for a tick on my back that I couldn't reach. Most ticks I remove from myself with just my finger nails but the tool definitely works very well.
