    Exploring the Shoal

Mercury schmurkury, I don't buy into it. If you read the latest FandW guidance documents you will see that you can eat almost unlimited fish from some of the worst bodies of water in the State, places where I wouldn't rinse my boots with the water. For instance, you can eat a pickerel...

    Water Well quality

You have spoken very true words Mr. or Ms. amf I will take my icy cold and very tasty well water over city or treated water any day. You gotta die of something and in my case it won't be the water I drink. By the time public water systems get done treating their product they have it down to...

I got a flat for free from a local farmer and last Wednesday night I mashed and canned 12 jars of blueberry jam. Nothing better.

    Batsto River

That is a great trip Greg, good times spent with your brother are priceless. I love fishing the Batsto in any season. There are lots of beautiful, productive places along that river and many are never experienced by fishermen. I wish my two sons were as close as you and your brother are. My...

Amazon to collect New Jersey sales tax

It is not just the 7% price advantage that the internet stores have over a brick and mortar store, it's the convenience that they offer. If I know what I want and I want it quick, I order it online. No need to drive from the pines into suburbia and fight through a sea of blabbing soccer moms in...

Wharton State Forest: A Quick Guide

Excellent idea for an article Ben. We, who live in the midst of this gem, forget about the boundless reach of the internet and the little guy in a seal skin huddled over a computer in an igloo in Nunavut Googling "The Pine Barrens". For anyone that has the desire to explore the area for the...

Bodine Field to Wading Pines, A PBX Hike

A great day in the woods again boys and girl. We saw unique and breathtaking snapshots of the barrens within a half mile of 679 and 563 that no one has laid eyes upon for a very long time. The distant laughter and thumping of oars against aluminum canoes was never really out of earshot but I am...

    They're heere...

The scourge of all things mammalian have made their debut appearance for 2012 in P'town this morning. While running the dogs this morning along the bogs I was bitten three times by the one of the most irritating insects on the planet, the DEER FLY. It looks like the warm, muggy weather has...

    A Piney 29th Anniversary

Thanks everyone. It really has been important to have common interests over all these years. She loves to fish the ocean, crab, clam and she loves the woods as much as I do. With the exception of hunting, if I am in the woods or on the water it's with her.
