I have seen areas out there that are fenced in in the bogs with young cedar growing in them.Don't know if they were planted but it would seem so,why else would they start way out in the middle of a bog instead of along an edge where seed trees already exist?

I was stone hunting today and was about 150 yards off Sooy road when I found this.It was in a totally undisturbed area,the woods were moderately thick,no briar but a lot of Scrub Oak and tall Black Huckleberry.No sign of any old road or trail anywhere.It's is about three feet high and 2.5 ft...

have you ever sat in a cedar swamp when it was close to 0 deg F ? The cedars pop as the trees freeze,sounds similar to a lake booming as the ice settles but not as loud.They pop and like you say they "talk" when they rub each other.

eyeballing it I'd say the diameter was 3.5 to maybe 4 ft probably closer to 3.5

I went to it and the pic doesn't really show how big it is.When your right up to it it is a monster.It has lost a limb on the ground that would be a decent size tree itself.
