Spung man if you look at your map the road shown heading ne from cumberland to doughty is the one I walked a mile of it's abandoned length. There is also an old road called Blue Anchor on the Hartman maps that parallels union road to the west of it that is a very neat abandoned trough/horse road...

Are there any known caves in the Pines?

I've walked sections of the Doughty/Cumberland road north of Hesstown. The section was abandoned and had many trees across it but was still quite a u shaped trough,an obvious horse and buggy road.Part of the road is still semi driveable but a large section is forgotten.

Atlantic White Cedars in Muskee Headwaters

I am so confused here.I thought you were speaking of the lower mullica.I just seen your speaking of the wading.Evans bridge gave me geographical convulsions. Well then I don't think the stump has anything to fear for sometime as far as being put under the tides and I'd say both banks are on...

Atlantic White Cedars in Muskee Headwaters

oh okay.I thought maybe you knew of the tree standing and then you noticed someone just took it and if it was on the right bank headed upstream I assume it to be on Wharton land? The stump will last forever, especially if rising water levels put it under water.Salvageable cedar timber was...

Atlantic White Cedars in Muskee Headwaters

I believe I went back there with you.I know we went back by the old holly farm that day.DeCarlos is a vast gridwork of roads that were going to be developed at one time. There were several houses put in that are ruins now and one man still lives back there in a trailer/house combo. The area is...

Atlantic White Cedars in Muskee Headwaters

I am thinking of doing a systematic sweep from a little below the junction where the muskee splits up into heads (nixon, middle, slab and an unnamed head) and going up each branch over the course of the winter and looking for big trees.Birds eye shows some potential monsters. The biggest ones seem...

Atlantic White Cedars in Muskee Headwaters

I took a good march dunking there at the bridge a couple years ago.The tide was out and no good place to put in in a kayak.I decided if I got in with the kayak half hanging off the drop off of about two feet created by the planking to stop erosion (this planking is flooded at high tide and would...

    Exploring The Plains Branch

I really don't know what went on there? I don't know the Jersey Devil and personally have always doubted his existence and here I am being attacked by him? I don't know his bushwacking abilities but flying in doesn't count. I think to classify as a top notch bushwacker you have to have crossed...

Atlantic White Cedars in Muskee Headwaters

Can't say as I do. I was stone hunting on Muskee just upstream from weatherby road a couple years back and found a cedar on the south side of the swamp that had to be a good 8 ft circumference.Might be worth an extensive walk up that creek.I canoed to a point a mile above weatherby before the...
