    Fall/Winter Stone Searching 2019/2020

I think there could be the small possibility that some some of the open areas that can be seen in Bob's #35 post could be from logging. I recall there being a steam engine base made from brick in the immediate area. I have a picture of that base somewhere.

From my experience being wrong with dragonfly and damsel ID's, I have found that wing patterns are much better than colors and habitat to confirm what insect you have seen. This would be a good start- https://www.pbase.com/rcm1840/wingpatterns

The Largest Reported Tree in NJ Honored

Who would have thunk that a tree of that age and size would be found road side in Audubon? The article title states it is the largest tree but the shareholder mentions the elm is the oldest tree in NJ. Go figure. https://www.njpen.com/audubon-honors-largest-reported-tree-in-nj/

    Ticks & Chiggers--a study

I would take a guess and say that a spray application of bifenthrin would be a simple and effective means of controlling the invasive ticks.

    Island Beach

From what I have heard from several monitors of T/E in the barrens, there is a noticeable increase of Corn predation by Kings. This could be typical and they are aware of it only because the snakes have been implanted with a transmitter or the transmitter itself could be the cause. It is...
