    barren nights

Sad times. I'm truely sorry for all of your losses. Last Friday, Bear, my black Lab had his spleen removed in an emergency surgery due to a tumor. We found out last night that it's cancer. Trying to decide if it's selfish to start him on chemo-therapy. Terrible to go through, but for 10 years...

Exploring the Jonathan Godfrey Tract (Parker Preserve)

I sent the link to our chief surveyor. I've been out of the office doing field work & nursing my dog after emergency surgery. When I get a chance to talk to him, I'll pick his brain. I mentioned it to my wife, who's the company's bookkeeper/controller. She asked what the job might be.......Guy...

Interesting....I've often wondered/worried about the chance of my 2 black labs coming across a coyote. Glad things went the way they did!

    Jersey Devil, On-Demand.

While perusing the selections of Comcast On-Demand, I saw a series of short (5 minute) shows about our Jersey Devil. Nothing that we don't already know, but it featured a group of "Devil Hunters". I think the menu selections are.... "Cutting Edge", then "Paranormal", then "American Monsters"...

Great music for driving to and from your kayak/canoe spot.

Whipporbill....Thank God I'm a Country Boy? Ooops...sorry, that could've been me. I would have had it a low volume. If it was I, then please accept my apologies. I like to listen to John Denver or James Taylor when driving thru the pines. I, too often prefer silence though. When i do have...

Exploring the Jonathan Godfrey Tract (Parker Preserve)

Great report & pics. Thanks for sharing. I,too would've worried about chiggers approaching that building. As for the property corner monument...That's my company's! Now I'll have to ask questions around the office!

Last time I was there, I was able to drive surprisingly close. My bro-in-law got stuck in one hole with his stock XTerra.

Fisrt Timer for NJ Off Roading

One of the threads on that site is "Beginners trips". Now, I'm not a beginner, I just don't care to drive my Cherokee thru three feet of water. Have a second look at the site. I'll see if I can free up some time on the 18th.

    NJN's "Life on the Delaware"

-Anyone else watch it? Cool show on NJN last night. "Life on the Delware" They started with the headwaters of the Beaverkill in NY, then worked their way down river. Along the way, they met up with numerous "River People".....the owner of Kittatiney Canoes, the Riverkeeper, a fly fishing...

    Bald Eagle sighting

Guy, You were at the Runnemede Green Acres area. "Beaverbrook Park" I think? From that beach, If you looked across the Creek (Crik), You can see the "Clement Oak" formerly on RCA property, now, sadly, a shopping center. Mechoak - Lenape word for "Old Tree". This is one of the oldest...
