DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

I heard you had to be actively fishing. In 1969 I went spearfishing there. It was a tough time for them to deal with the need for beach access to get the scuba gear to the ocean. I eventually got a boat and we would anchor just off the surf. I worked with a man who used a kite to get his line...

    Spotting scope for wildlife

I am looking for a small, portable spotting scope, I have trouble with binoculars, getting the two images together. I was thinking of a monoscope, and it must be small, or it won't come along. I was looking at Celestron's hummingbird but am not sold. Any suggestions...

    Trepidations

That's up by the office far from the Hill, which was owned by Bob Drayton. He put in my septic and pumps it, very well-known and regarded. My mom lives on a lake here since 2000 and I never heard of a problem. If you don't mind restrictions, it is a good place to live. marlborough Drive.

    Trepidations

I know several people who live in Giesertowne, including my mother. She is on Marlborough Dr, quite a bit away. I haven't heard of any complaints and there is municipal water. There is a monthly rag put out by Liesuretowne called The Watch Dog. You could stop by the office and maybe get a copy...

DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

I don't know if it was officially canceled but the Batona Camp is jammed with 4 wheeling happy campers with dogs and children. As I was driving home there were many more coming down Carranza Road. It looks like fun; I'd like to join them.

post 2009, yes there is something written on it on the bottom of one of the slabs. It needs a wire brushing and may be a mirror, it is upside down. I will locate it

    Where is this?

In the concrete rubble there is something written when the concrete was wet. It would take some effort to expose it all. It might be a fun project.

    Where is this?

A bit of local lore: If you walk toward the Skit from that spot, you will cross a concrete raceway. Continue along the dam, it ends. Locally it is called The Breached Causeway and I was told it was dynamited.
