    Kayaked the Sedge Islands

Jeff, real nice pics, I really need to get out there this winter and explore that park. Have you ever seen, or has anyone ever seen any reptiles out around island beach state park? Not including diamond back terrapins. Thanks chris

    Hunting Seasons Begin This Weekend

"keeping there numbers in check is no different than managing the deer population especially if you like to keep your cat around." I'm not sure if you are talking about house cats being killed by foxes and yote. If you are I laugh, I don't feel bad at all if someones poor little...

    Hawk migration

Guy, did not get the fox yet, my dad actually saw one inspecting our pond about last sunday. I believe he is probably from the population at tavistock c.c. As for that trail at devon I walked it when I was a kid. Back then there was a pretty stable population of natural light beer cans, box...

    Hawk migration

I'm not really into birding but I find birds of prey to be awesome creatures. Today my mom came into our house saying there was a bald eagle flying over our house in haddonfield. I laughed at her thinking there was no way a bald eagle would be in camden county let alone haddonfield. Well she...

In case this hasn't been mentioned just yet . . .

Guy, I think that person was just joking around. While I can't say that for sure, but he isn't from jersey, I don't think he was serious though. That billboard like most is ridiculous. Builders and lawyers are not my favorite people in the world. Sorry if this is anyones occupation.

    Millville Holly Orchard

I've been traveling down that road going to sea isle for a while and that place always seems to be for sale. That road is relatively undisturbed with few or no developments. I hope it stays that way since some of my favorite spots are within a few miles of there.

    Pine snake dens

Probably a fox, like i said I never have seen their dens. I guess their normally on the ground, this one was on the side of a dune like area. It was wishful thinking i guess.

    Pine snake dens

AC's site is were I first saw burrows and when I saw this, that is what I thought of. I've never seen one before but I have seen three pines right around this area. Also this particular spot is a closed area so something is there that is endangered, threatened etc. The picture makes the hole...

    Atlantic County

I've never heard of anyone finding one there. However, nj list them as occurring in atlantic, gloucester, and northeastern cumberland counties. They are rumored to exist at peaslee wma in millville. I'll be honest when I read that they were in these counties I was shocked, I think I posted...

    Pine snake dens

No just his hairy sasquatch like legs. I wanted to post some of the pics but my brother in law has been bugging me to set up the camera in his backyard in haddon heights to get a pic of a red fox. I deleted the pics so he had full memory in the camera. Hopefully I will get some better...

    Pine snake dens

Ok, need some snake experts help here. As I've said before I know little about snakes behavior and habitats, turtles are my thing. Today I found what appears to be the beginnings of a freshly dug pine snake den. It was a hole in the side of a mound of sand, about as wide as a mini basketbell...

    snake venom?

Billy, I was wondering when you were going to join this site, I think I gave you the address a while ago. Anyways, welcome, I often wonder when I'm checking out wood turtles in central pa why there isn't bog turtles. The habitat appears to be better there, limestone fed sedge habitat are all...

    Question for Bobpbx

Bob, just wondering if you have been out to see that timber rattlesnake since your last trip. I know he/she had some health issues just wondering if you've seen it since. Thanks Chris

    snake venom?

I have a question can someone explain to me why the scarlet snake is not endangered or threatened in south jersey. Are they "uncommon" but just very secretive spending most time under ground, or out at night. It seems like people find all the other snakes in south jersey from time to time...

    First Timer

Well I can answer a few of your questions. Snakes are still out I have seen pine snakes out into october. As far as how late you can find them it all depends on the weather but when daytime temps dip below the 70's consistently it will probably be tough. There is one poisionous snake in the...
