This Bottom Line recording of Jungleland is stamped 7/12/74. It's amazing how many Wiki pages there are for the album, its songs, and the people involved. This live recording reminded me of the hour long, all Bruce, all live recordings, weekly Saturday morning radio show from one of the Philly...

    Music for the day

Born to Run was released fifty years ago today. "Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge. Drinking warm beer in a soft summer rain." The poets down here don't write nothing at all. They just stand back and let it all be. Wikipedia says this live Bottom Line recording was the public debut...

    Transportation for Mullica River trip

Because they had no loaners available, a dealership paid for my Lyft rides once. I've been using Lyft ever since for the occasional trips picking-up and dropping-off vehicles. No complaints. Never used Uber.

Riders Switch now has 3 whips.

Only because I just finished watching the movie "Office Space" again. Can you imagine this made-for-movie performance appraisal... The Bobs: "what major tasks have you completed this year?" Worker: "I deployed over 3,000 fiberglass whips" "What else?" "I put stickers on all 3,000."

A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

This riddle reminded me of something the cool and great Vegas philosopher Dean Martin sang... "You're nobody until somebody loves you."

Kenny Rogers & The First Edition. (Young folks might know this song from the Big Lebowski. :)) Looking at the unsmiling faces behind the band. I first thought they were performing at a prison camp. But a little research showed it was from the Chuck Barris TV show, Operation Entertainment...

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

My darkest thought (somewhat far-reaching) is that someone is looking ahead to when clean water is scarce. Then following through on Joseph Wharton's plan for reservoirs, canals, and aqueducts to provide water to the northeast.

Surveillance Camera Use in Wharton State Forest Draws Objections from Legislators, Open Trails NJ

When told of the cameras, a passing hiker recommended "flipping the script and providing an exhibit that will make most of the viewers feel inadequate". Don't know if that's out-of-bounds or not, but it did leave me laughing. :D

There were a lot of Lowell George tributes last month. Lowell was amazing. Its always fun to sing along with a Little Feat chorus.

Nice! Reminded me of Kerouac by Ken Kweder. Which then got me reminiscing about the Philly music scene. JDB was always a fun show. Nanette Mancini would crush it.

Canned Heat is amazing. They released a great album a year or two ago. That's longevity. Visited Albert Hall once when friend was playing there, drumming in a bluegrass band. Which is funny if you knew him. He's more likely to have Hed PE playing on the stereo than anything from Flatt &...

    Ticks & Chiggers--a study

Regarding the soon to arrive gnats and deer flies. :( Have used the old-sticky-blue-solo-cup-on-top-of-the-cap-trick (as Maxwell Smart might say) with effective results. Then saw this clip-on-dragonfly for sale on the social feeds today. Looks slightly less ridiculous. Might give it a try...

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

If past experience is any indication... "IF" the DEP dropped this. There would be some signage alongside saying NO. So the SPP could enforce it if needed. More than likely itsa freelance effort. Similar to all the branches that were dragged across the designated bicycle trails several years...

    GEICO Insurance

Don't know how the tariffs will affect the price of car parts and the corresponding price of car insurance. But I can't imagine it being good. The recent price hikes make me wonder if the insurance company actuaries saw this coming. Been using Geico for over a decade. There were no problems and...
