    Barry Zeldin Podcast

Mike, have you any theories on where he slept Tues and Wednesday (assuming he was not dead already)? When was the truck found again? I heard your female companion say in podcast two, "five days later" (his truck was found at the FAA tower). That would be Saturday.

Did you ever locate Gabe, the guy who worked on Barry's boat?

But you said he got lost before in the second installment of your podcast, and that he got out using his cell phone. You must have picked that up from somebody.

Good point Scott. I'll add that those little lap type of dogs used to being in the home are out of place in the woods. They are awkward and fragile in our piney woods.

That is quite a boat. What line of work was Barry in?

I skipped typing class more often than not, but when I got a white collar job I had to stop hunting and pecking. I took keyboarding at my community college. One of the best things I've ever done to eliminate a lot of aggravation in life.

I want to see those tiny pink flowers on Knieskern's beaksedge. I didn't know that.

Yes, I forgot about meeting that cop in the woods. He was out there because he was very puzzled why it was not solved.

Usually, that would annoy me, but he has a way of writing that flows easily, making it very easy to digest. I didn't even notice it was one long paragraph.

Thanks for your remarkably thorough reply. Very interesting. I'll return the email with Dave's contact numbers.

Interesting. Thanks for posting the podcast. My thoughts: What's the story of Barry and the chain saw in the back of the car? Are you documenting this graphically on paper? It would seem very useful. You said to Bill: "nobody thinks he got lost". Does that include the police? Does everyone...

That looks like it was a well-used road at the turn of the 20th century. Be neat to walk it from Jenkins down to 542 at Green Bank. https://online.boydsmaps.com/#14/39.6476/-74.5493/pines1899

I can't imagine what was in the minds of people who put a road right here. Madness. https://online.boydsmaps.com/#17/39.64272/-74.55491/njgin2007 Edit: interesting. I appears almost dry in 1995, Must be a long flat spung or just a dip in the land...

GALLERY: Look Back at Batsto Village

My Uncle Jimmy (mom's brother-in-law) was a heavy truck mechanic for 40 years or so. He worked at a couple places up on route 1 near New Brunswick and Metuchen. I'm going to ask him next time he calls. He's 88 now and has a great memory.

Why were they made? My first reaction is sand in the chain, and "a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link". Seems like an idea that was later found to be unworkable.
