    Weather on the way...

I did not get even a drop of rain in the past 48 hours. I wonder what's up with that weather center.

Yes, post 60's in Bamber. Why do you ask? I don't think a sanctioned enduro event riding on a marked trail maybe once a year is the same as buzzing around anywhere you want on an ATV. I see that both those farmers post their lands, just as NJCF does.

Hey, I have an idea. Why doesn't the good mayor and his buddy's grab their guns and ATV's and book on down to Haine's or the Lee Brother bogs. See if they are welcomed with open arms down there. It's only a few miles.

What NJCF has done to that area is small peanuts compared to what the cranberry industry did. That Pole Branch tributary was totally destroyed in the making of those bogs. Below is a below and after.

What a bunch of crap from that mayor. NJCF is a good land steward. I don't think Demarco let ATV's ride all over his land either, that is just a mayor who feels he should do anything he wants (after all...it's MY TOWN!). I have met a lot of hunters who hunt there, and they like it a lot, and do...

    Natural Navigation

That's how I started out Ben. It's interesting. Declination and orienting the map correctly is very important. Let me brush up on it when the weather warms up, and we'll go out and try it in the upland. In my previous post I did not shoot using a map. I just set it on a direction (i.e...

    Music for the day

That was good! I saw CSN&Y at (where was it, Atlantic City racetrack?). I always liked Neil Young, and thought that song was pretty groundbreaking in it's day. Back then in the hippie days we were in our old world, and never thought much about old people. At least I didn't. Lately Scott, I'm...

    Natural Navigation

Comprehensive post Al. I lost my Oregon GPS somewhere in the Parker Preserve this summer. I went without one for maybe 45 days or more. Instead I relied heavily on my compass and pre-planning. Once parked I'd shoot for my target with compass so that it got me close to the bog or riverside where...

Your photos are stunning Doug. Really. I've never seen nicer photos of water lilies or a fox.

    bay days

That one dog is a powerful runner. Can I rant just a bit here? Why is it that the county and state can't work together and get a couple hundred people who are out of work in Bridgeton and Salem and 60 dumpsters, and have them clean that area up at $15 per hour? What would it take, a week? That...

    Cable TV Problems

Guy, about 5 years ago I had a bad signal problem. I was also using an electric amp at the time, one of the earlier ones. It did not help me much at all, but was not related to the problem. The technician went down to the basement with me and when I pointed out my amp he smirked like a little...

Is that Chatsworth Doug? As to the size of the photos, I'm not sure. I never post the actual photos. I post a PNG file of the photo I make using the Microsoft snipping tool. If I ever use JPG, I reduce the size down to approximately 1,000 X 800 PXL.

    anyone do truck recovery? help!

He was right here, on his merry way to Spring Hill. He had great ambitions, but that road is really horrible right now. It was even worse on the way to get him (by the old cabin lake).

    anyone do truck recovery? help!

I got him out. I brought a 10 pound sledge and shovel with me. Had to chop out the ice in back of his vehicle. The ice was about 5" thick. I used shingles under my tires. Tom (oji) was standing by on the Red road just in case.

    anyone do truck recovery? help!

I am in contact with Doug, and am preparing to go out there. I don't have a winch, so it will be dicey. If anyone else is going to call and help let me know. I'll check this post right before I leave.
