I purposely left out photos of the ruination of the spungs in the southern end by careless motor vehicle activity. Posting them would serve no purpose, we've all seen it before. Although the place is posted as closed to motor vehicles, we did note a few recent new ruts. Still, we can only hope...

Yesterday PBX explored a large area south of the Skit Branch Bridge, just east of Hampton Furnace. I've always wanted to see the area just south of the bridge. I'd been there before with Guy, but I wanted to get an in depth look. Plus, I'd never seen the area called 1/4 mile, so off we went...

When I first saw the stones, I thought no, can't be. Now I'm not so sure. I did not look close enough to notice whether or not the discoloration is just mold/lichen covering up the brown natural color.
