    Weather for today

Cloudy, except when it's not. Chance of showers in the morning, at noon, then again at mid-afternoon. Definitely a shower at dinner time, then a freaking deluge at 8 PM that will wash away your kids, the car, and the southwestern section of your precious home. :D

    Camp Columbus near Bamber Lake

That is some art of fancy in that Thunder Road Part1 clip. The guy rolls the car twice and once he's upright again heads the other way like a bat out of hell. Ha! :p

Paul, in The City of Burlington’s Water Supply text from your website, in prefacing the REPORT OF HENRY P. M. BIRKINBINE, C. E., you say " Here is the initial portion of the text, which firmly expresses Birkinbine’s opinion that the Board of Water Commissioners ordered an engine too small for...

    The NEW Beer Thread

Mark, I had not checked for your last answer. Very interesting. Why the light color of sand for those stuctures? Is it because they came from the upper layers and were light colored being subject to leaching, but sunk below too rapidly (from the thaw process) to pick up any color? Very confusing.

    Storms headed our way again

Got dime-sized hail here in Bamber at 4:30 today. Rained extremely hard. Windswept all the way at the ground level. A gully-washer. Now the dewpoint is an extremely uncomfortable 72% or so.

    Storms headed our way again

Boyd, Bamber got caught in a freight train of a storm last nite. I stained the front of the house thinking a 20% chance was not too "chancey", but then the train rolled in at 7:30 or so. The tail end hung over Bamber for at least 20-30 minutes of solid rain.

Open space isn't always for forever

Snipped: "Burlington County advised farmer-veterinarian Dr. William Pettit Jr. he could not train dogs on his 1992-preserved farm in Southampton because it violated the agricultural use deed restriction. He has a permitted veterinary business on the farm that predated preservation and is still...

From the article: "Fascinating," declared Megan Steinweg, 29, an Oak Ridge researcher who studies carbon cycling at a peat bog in Minnesota. "It's my first time in New Jersey, ever," she said. "This is not the New Jersey we see on TV." Yes, just don't tell anyone.

    Strange Weather Pattern

Thank you for that link Boyd. I watch the radar often too, and when I saw what was happening, it registered in my mind as something unusual right away, like watching a guy riding a bike down the street backwards. In your link, it is clear that there was a north-south weather track at least 200...

    HMS Bounty

Something interesting you may not know. When the 1935 film Mutiny on the Bounty was made, sailing vessels were still in wide use: existing vessels were adapted to play Bounty and Pandora. For the 1962 film, a new Bounty was constructed in Nova Scotia. For much of 1962 to 2012, she was owned...
