    Strange Weather Pattern

Went out to do something, began raining. Coming directly from the North. Odd.

    Lakehurst, home of multiple forges?

They have been there since the 30's at least. My guess is a canal or a couple cordoroy roads for logging.

I'm moving to Lacey township NJ

I have to say no in my experience. The most I've ever have had on my body was 50 or so. That was after a long trip on the Basto River. I think I know what is happening. That trail is a very popular trail and the ticks sense it by detecting carbon dioxide being exhaled, and they all move close to...

    Whitesbog this morning

That grass pink is a super nice photo Doug. You have really done superb work this year, downright astounding. Professional quality. How about a little summary from you telling us how you evolved over the past couple years into this kind of photographer, and how you feel when you go...

    We have egg's....

The chicks are huge. Adults cannot even keep them down. Both parents are great providers. http://friendsofislandbeach.org/ospreycam/

Right about here Ryan. Maybe Pheonix Furnace? I too remember some sort of concrete lined culvert near here. I used to live on Union Avenue in 1980. I rented with the famous Gibby Giberson!

    Botany

Well then, if not a grape fern, then how about a rattlesnake fern or moonwort? Both are of the genus Botrychium.

    Lakehurst, home of multiple forges?

I stopped by today. They are concrete pyramidal ornaments marking a gateway. These are substantial, about 9 feet tall or so. They have iron in the core, as one side is chipped and I can see the iron. If these are from the guy who owns the house, this is an awful lot of work for an entrance to...

    Field Recording of Singing Frogs

Wow, patience for that one! I like how the ant approached from behind, but as soon as it saw the frog, beat a retreat. I used to get them on the top rail of my pool. Close up they are deafening. Could not sleep, had to capture them in my hand (very easy) and walk them down the road and put them...

    Lakehurst, home of multiple forges?

Ryan, I work at the base, and I'd drive to a little roadside clearing right at the spot Jokerman spoke of to take a nap during lunch. I seem to remember an ornate remnant; something akin to an entranceway pole at that spot. I was amazed to see it still standing. I'll have to look for again.

    Field Recording of Singing Frogs

Evan, that weather report recording at the start of the mountains of Dub safarai is very interesting! And Karen Carptenter in the cloud people is cool. I liked her voice.
