    Beer (again)

It is on the malty side, with a hoppy smell. There is a definite bitterness to it, you can taste it right in the center of your tongue. In fact, though interesting, it is too bitter for my usual tastes, but I would put in into a class of beer that a beer lover would like. Sort of like 3/4's of...

    Things in perspective.

I'm glad everything is all right. I know exactly what you mean. We bring them up to adulthood, and when we turn them loose we close our eyes, cross our fingers, and pray nothing happens to them. It's basically out of our control.

    Beer (again)

Do you think so? I always thought Yeungling was lighter. No, not Yeungling. Of course, it is tough since probably-what-1,000 beers are the same color as this one!

    Beer (again)

Jerseyman, no, I don't belong to the club. That mug was a birthday gift 25 years ago. Somebody had the strange idea I liked the woods. Fancy that! Here is tonites sample. I like it better than last nites.

    Hiking the Great Swamp Again

I think my response was in line with the way you phrased the question. I don't think I was reading too much into it at all. Bob ends this one with a :)

    Beer (again)

I have another brew to try tonite. I'll see if you can guess it by the color again. No peeking till then. I normally don't have my couple of toddy's till after 8 pm or so (unless you twist my arm with sausages, cheeses, potato chips and tailgates).

    Hiking the Great Swamp Again

Guy, by your response, you must have been shown something we are not privy too. Your assertion, if I read it correctly, is that someone used dynamite to blow the trees out of the ground and at the same time (perhaps in a serendipitous manner) created hollows for cranberry farming. You might have...

    Beer (again)

Tom and Steve, you got it right. I followed the directions on the bottle to get the head, but I overdid it. My evaluation of this sensory experience: A very interesting taste, very smooth, and with an immediate kick. I drank one more last night, ice cold and right out of the bottle. Very...

    Forked River Mountain Cleanup

The date this year is Sunday, 20 April. We meet at Wells Mills. If you come, plan to be there between 8:30 and 8:45 so we can assign spots. I am probably going to do a really bad spot between the Middle and South Branch of the Forked River--over by the Parkway. I have a V-8 engine, car seats...

    Beer (again)

HEY! No making fun of the brew taste of others. If you are going to act like a snobby connoisseur, we'll band together and make your eyes kind-of-sore. I purchased two types of beer today at the whiting store. I'll let you know how they taste later tonite.

    Controlled burn?

German you were there I think if it was the same rattler. It was curled up at the edge of a bog and the temperature was about 60 degrees I believe. Ted Gordon was with us too. I was riding with Walt and Andy Windisch and we stopped at a rise where the knee high pines were. We went a slightly...

    Cranberry Hall

Jerseyman, that Methodist Church looks like a very grand church for its time, considering the small community. It looks well built. Whomever was involved really put their heart into it and knew the meaning of a level line.

    Hiking the Great Swamp Again

Bravo Guy! Great hike in a grand area. I love that first savanna shot. Its the real deal we know and love. You two put in a hard, hard day. The weather though, was perfect for that kind of slog. What is up with your legs? Pain in both at the same time is very unusual.

    Controlled burn?

Walter F. Bien, Ph.D, is a great source of information about the plains, and he's a really nice guy. He works a lot out behind the bombing range and gave a tour of the range's endangered species a few years back. I was shocked to see one area where the pines are only up to my knee. Very, very...
